Tinnitus Therapy with YogiChi Yoga and YogiChi Tai-Chi

AudioSense offers YogaChi Yoga as a form of tinnitus therapy and for rehabilitation of other hearing related issues and anxieties.

Our Yoga and Tai-Chi classes are provided in collaboration with Jai Ma Yogi, who is a spiritual teacher, life coach and certified yoga instructor and are held in our YogiChi Studio, which is located in our lower level.

How Does YogiChi Yoga Help with Tinnitus?

Science tells us that stress, anxiety and fatigue can exacerbate symptoms of hearing loss, including symptoms tinnitus.

One of the hallmarks of tinnitus rehabilitation is that of tinnitus relaxation therapies. There are many different ways to engage in relaxation therapies, including doing such things as picking up hobby, getting a massage or acupuncture/acupressure, meditating, and others. There are also many downloadable apps out there that can help guide you with the most appropriate forms of relaxation that have been shown to help with tinnitus therapy.

What is Kriya Yoga?

Kriya Yoga incorporates the practice of Kriyas (deep breathing), Pranayamas, Meditation, Full Body Relaxation, Visual Imagery, Vinyasa Flows and Free Movement.

Kriya Yoga therapy is based on Sattva Yoga practices founded in India. These practices are intended to cleanse, detox, and connect heart, mind and spirit by using principles of energy transference. This Yoga is based on tantric yogi principles and uses mantras, deep breathing and mudras. The goal is for you to feel rejuvenated and relaxed after the class. You might not break a sweat during these classes (although some of us did!), but you will learn the tools to calm your mind and hopefully, your tinnitus.

Tinnitus therapy is one of the many hearing services we provide at AudioSense.

Thai-Chi at YogiChi

AudioSense also offers Thai-Chi classes, which were specifically developed to promote good balance, posture, stability and flexibility to reduce the risks of falls. Thai-Chi is a gently form of exercise also known as “moving meditation”. The slow, gentle and flowing motions of tai-chi can train your body to shift its weight and teach you to feel your feet, while breathing deeply. This offers a host of health benefits including improving mobility, balance and preventing falls.
