HEARING AID BATTERIES
Best Hearing Aid Batteries in Toronto
At AudioSense, we believe that a high-quality battery will allow your hearing aids, bone anchored hearing aids or cochlear implants to function optimally.
With hearing prostheses, whether you wear a hearing aid, a bone anchored hearing aid or a cochlear implant, odds are, you will need batteries to power them. Zinc air batteries in the form of small metal buttons are the types of battery that these devices typically use. Zinc air batteries have little holes at the top of the battery cell. The more holes your battery has, the better. This is because, zinc air batteries are powered by oxidizing zinc with oxygen from the air. The more holes the batteries have, the more air that can get into the battery and the less likely it is that the air contacts of the battery (i.e., the hole) will get occluded by dust or debris.
How to Insert Batteries into Hearing Aids
Here’s a tip for you. When you remove the sticker tab from your battery, let your battery breathe for 5 minutes before you place it in your hearing aid. This will allow the air hole to absorb as much air as possible and may increase the life of your battery. You can then place that sticky tab onto a calendar every time you change your batteries, so that you can predict how long your batteries will last in your hearing aids.
Disposable or Rechargeable Hearing Aid Batteries
At AudioSense, both disposable or rechargeable batteries are available. Our Rayovac Full Performance batteries are mercury free and come in packs of 6 cells for all hearing aid sizes and cochlear implants. The size of battery you’ll need depends on your particular hearing aid. If you can’t remember the size of your battery, try to remember the colour of the battery tab. The colour of the tab corresponds to the size of your battery. Hearing Aid batteries come in the following sizes: #10 (yellow), #312 (brown), #13 (orange) and #675 (blue) and #675 Implant Pro+ for cochlear implants. We also sell ZPower rechargeable batteries, for rechargeable hearing aids.
