At our hearing clinic in Markham, you can access audiology services without a doctor’s referral. While we often collaborate with physicians to extend our services to their patients, it's not required for testing. With your consent, we can share relevant test results with your doctor. To schedule a visit with our audiologist, simply call or email us, and we’ll arrange your appointment.
Since 2001, audiology services have not been covered by OHIP, so there is a charge for hearing assessments at AudioSense. We offer a comprehensive range of hearing tests for both adults and children, evaluating all parts of the ear from the canal to the inner ear. If you have private health insurance, either personal or through your employer, you might be reimbursed for these services depending on your insurance plan and coverage level.
Certainly! In Ontario, the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) from the Ministry of Health provides a grant of $500 per hearing aid every three to five years for most residents. At AudioSense, we handle the application process for you and directly bill ADP, meaning you don't have to pay this portion upfront.
At AudioSense, we prioritize clear and competitive pricing. By avoiding unnecessary markups and not bundling services and products you don't need, we give you the flexibility to manage your hearing health expenses effectively. If you find a lower price on hearing aids or cochlear implants elsewhere, just show us the quote and we'll match it.
While OHIP does not cover audiology services, many private and workplace insurance plans do. We also collaborate with various government and third-party funders to make our services more accessible. Additionally, we assist with all necessary insurance paperwork, including claims for motor-vehicle accidents and post-concussion syndrome.
Yes and no. We've introduced Touch-Up Tuesday events, held on the first Tuesday of each month from 9:30am to 5:30pm. During these sessions, anyone can visit our clinic for complimentary routine maintenance and adjustments to their hearing aids, regardless of whether they are our current patients.
For hearing aids bought at AudioSense and still under warranty, these services are free. However, a service fee applies to out-of-warranty hearing aids. If your hearing aids were purchased elsewhere, there will typically be a charge for our services.
Certainly! At AudioSense, we uniquely offer private Cochlear Implant Mappings. We collaborate closely with any existing cochlear implant teams you have, including your hospital audiologist and ENT, to ensure top-notch service and hearing outcomes. In your initial mapping session, our audiologist will review your hearing and implant history to optimize the process. Please note, you must maintain your relationship with your cochlear implant ENT, as we do not have an ENT on staff, ensuring you have access to specialist care when needed.
